The Journey That Built a Dream
A Father's Letter to His Daughters
Celebrating Eid Al-Adha 2025 • From logistics assistant to ecosystem architect
As we celebrate Eid Al-Adha 2025 together in our Muscat home, I want to share with you the complete story of our family's journey. Just as Prophet Ibrahim's (peace be upon him) story teaches us about faith, sacrifice, and Allah's greater plan, our journey has been one of building bridges, overcoming challenges, and discovering that every step was preparing us for where we are today.
Nashwa, at 16, you'll understand most of this story. Amirah, at 10, you'll understand the important parts. And my little mithi Ahlam, at 6, someday when you're older, you'll read this and understand the love that guided every decision Baba made.
This is our story - all of it, including the parts that still hurt and the decisions that required more courage than I knew I had.

Today
When I joined Future Communications Company International (FCCI) in Kuwait in 2004, I wasn't hired as an engineer - I was a logistics assistant. But in those early days, I became what every organization needs: someone willing to fill whatever gap needed filling.
By 2005, when FCCI won the contract for what would become one of the most prestigious telecommunications projects in the Middle East - the launch of "du," UAE's second telecom operator - something extraordinary happened. Despite being one of the youngest people on the team, I was selected to participate.
In 2009, Nashwa, you came into our world in Kuwait City, bringing light and purpose to everything we were building. Your mama and I were overjoyed, and suddenly all the work wasn't just about building a career - it was about providing for the beautiful daughter who would change everything about what mattered to me.
In 2015, Amirah, you joined our family, also born in Kuwait City. Your mama and I were blessed again, and now Baba had two daughters to provide for. The motivation to excel became even stronger.

A precious family moment - one of countless memories that reminded me every day why building our future together was worth every challenge
In 2016, my performance at Huawei earned us a big move - from Kuwait to Bahrain, where I took on expanded regional responsibilities. Nashwa, you were 7 years old and excited about the adventure. Amirah, at just 1 year old, you adapted with the fearless curiosity that still defines you.
Bahrain became our home for four transformative years. This is where we lived when our youngest, Ahlam - my little mithi - was born in 2019. Your mama and I were blessed with our third precious daughter, completing our family in the most beautiful way.
MCIPS Studies Journey
During these four years in Bahrain, your mama played a crucial role in my professional development. While I was completing my MCIPS studies - attending classes from 6 to 9 PM after long work days - she ensured I had the space and focus needed to succeed.
What made this period truly transformational was the unique opportunity to immediately apply everything I was learning. By day, I was managing complex procurement operations at Huawei. By evening, I was studying the theoretical frameworks that explained why certain approaches worked better than others.

Beautiful sisterly moments - watching you girls bond and support each other through every stage of our family's growth

Precious family time - even during the busiest periods of work and study, spending time together was always my greatest joy
In 2020, our family made another move - from Bahrain to the UAE. This wasn't just a relocation; it was the beginning of a completely new way of working.
you were growing from 11 to 14 during our UAE years, developing your own independence as I was developing mine professionally.
from ages 5 to 8, you were discovering your love of learning and asking questions about everything.
my mithi, from ages 1 to 4, you were bringing joy to every day with your laughter and your ability to find magic in ordinary moments.

Family outings and adventures - these collages capture the joy and togetherness that defined our journey across different countries
Your mama was adjusting to these changes alongside all of us, supporting our family as we navigated this new chapter of increased independence and global opportunities.

Evening explorations - discovering new cities and cultures together, creating memories that would last a lifetime
In 2023, our UAE foundation enabled something remarkable: immigration to the United Kingdom. This was a dream your mama and I had worked toward together, opening new educational and cultural opportunities for you girls.
you started at an excellent school in the UK, making new friends while maintaining your Arabic and adapting to British culture.
you discovered new interests and showed the same adaptability that has always amazed me.
my mithi, you turned every new experience into an adventure.

Adventures in a new country

Exploring new environments

Outdoor adventures
you were 15 when our family faced its greatest challenge. Old enough to understand exactly what was happening when your mama decided to take you and your sisters to the United States without telling me. Old enough to feel caught in the middle of decisions you had no control over, but young enough that you shouldn't have had to carry that weight.
at 9, you understood that something big was happening, even if you couldn't grasp all the details.
my little mithi, at 5, you sensed the tension but trusted that somehow everything would be okay.
Nashwa's Robotics Achievement
For six months, while I remained in Muscat, you girls attended schools in the United States. And Nashwa, even during this incredibly difficult period, you showed the same remarkable adaptability that has always defined you. You excelled academically and threw yourself into new opportunities with your usual determination. I was so proud when I learned that you had joined the Deep Blue robotics team and were competing in robotics competitions. Even though I couldn't be there in person, I watched your competitions online, seeing my daughter demonstrate the same problem-solving skills and resilience that have carried our family through every challenge.
For six months, I couldn't reach you regularly. From Muscat, I used every skill I'd developed over twenty years - the patience from complex negotiations, the relationship-building from working across cultures, the crisis management from handling $80M+ programs - all focused on one goal: bringing my daughters back home.
In February and March 2025, Allah answered my prayers. You came home to Muscat with me. Nashwa, now 16. Amirah, now 10. Ahlam, now 6. We were together again.
My beautiful daughters, you are now living with me in Muscat, and today as we celebrate Eid Al-Adha together, I'm reminded of how Allah's plan for our family continues to unfold in ways that bring us strength and peace.
you're thriving in your new school, showing the same strength and adaptability that got us through our difficult months.
you're making new friends and discovering that Oman has wonderful opportunities for curious minds like yours.
my little sunshine, you're bringing joy to every day with your laughter and your ability to find magic in ordinary moments.

Thriving and growing - each of you developing your unique personality and strengths
What I Want Each of You to Know on This Blessed Eid
At 16, you've lived in six countries and shown remarkable strength during our family's most difficult time. Even during those six months in the US, when everything was uncertain, you excelled in your studies and joined the Deep Blue robotics team. Watching your robotics competitions online from Muscat, I was filled with pride seeing you apply the same problem-solving skills and determination that have always defined you. From Kuwait where you were born, to Bahrain where you started school, to the UAE where you grew into a young woman, to the UK where you discovered new possibilities, to the US where you thrived despite uncertainty, and now to Oman where we're building our future together - you've adapted to each place with grace, courage, and excellence. You are becoming a young woman of exceptional character, and I'm honored to be your Baba. May Allah guide your path always.
At 10, you've lived in six countries and adapted to each one with enthusiasm and intelligence. Born in Kuwait, raised in Bahrain, growing in the UAE, learning in the UK, and now thriving in Oman - your questions about how the world works inspire me every day. Your kindness to your sisters and your excitement about learning remind me why all the hard work is worth it. May Allah bless your curious mind and kind heart.
At 6, you are pure sunshine. Born in Bahrain, growing up across the UAE and UK, and now bringing light to our Oman home - your ability to find joy in every situation, to make us all laugh when we need it most, and to love so completely reminds us all what matters most. You are the heart of our family. May Allah protect your beautiful spirit always.
